This week we say au revoir to gong 🫡

He has fitted into the DD community seamlessly, and the cool as a cucumber nature has brought a calming energy for all of us. Thank you for all that you have offered, we will miss you on this side of town.

Luckily, we can all see him slingin' at our mate's Parable House and his upcoming Sunday coffee project Sunday Scribbles I know I will 🤍

The long awaited return of the Belfast gem PROCESS // By Ben 📼

You will be familiar with their nostalgic VCR package, then they add on to release some rare coffees in miniature helium bottles for the hype! Anyways, coffee themselves are obviously equally delicious.

In VCR format, we have two Colombian drops, a washed Geisha and a thermal shocked Pink Bourbon from the renowned Zarza team. While in the 100g helium cans, two of the finest Ethiopian crops, a 74158 and a Heirloom both processed natural anaerobically to enhance the fruitiness.

A few weeks ago during my Tokyo visit, I met the Sapporo based NODE 🎌

They have this unique expression in their coffee where it is elegant and clean, yet highlights the fruitiness of each coffee without being too in your face. They are one of the first roasters we will be showcasing from around Japan that we met.

You will get to enjoy their seasonal filter range including two delightful Colombian Pink Bourbons on two ends of the processing spectrum, one washed, and the other double fermented honey. Finished with a dreamy white honey 74158 from Ethiopian's Alo Coffee, and a natural Java from Nicaragua's El Porvenir. Be sure to swing by for a brew, snag a box for home, or share something different with your mates✌🏽

Every DD anniversary, we are fortunate to collaborate with one of our design-forward customers. This year, we tap the talented Raphael Roake for this culturally sensitive drop!

Our thoughts have been with the people of Palestine over the past 3 years, and with the likes of other Arabic nations being terrorised more recently, we wanted to show support by using the beautiful Arabic language. With some guidance from our friends Islamic Lifestyle Store NZ
Taslim Bhamji we are able to dress this respectively.

We are celebrating DD's belated 9th birthday from tomorrow, and I couldn't be more stoked to reach this milestone. 9 is my lucky number so it holds more significance🎈

Thank you for all the love and support over the year, we have been blessed with your loyalty from near and far, the new friendships we have made, and most of all, the thousands of coffees we have served you.

DD turns 9 this year🎉

Following tradition, we are fortunate to have coffee friends from far and wide to roast an exclusive lot to celebrate each year. This year, it's a NZ roaster's turn. You will all have been acquainted with Slow Coffee Roasters

We have been gunning for these guys over the past couple of years, and are proud to have them roast our birthday coffee. They have dedicated a special natural Colombian Java from La Divisa, by Diofanor Ruiz. Roasted in both espresso and filter profiles, this will be a spectacular brew indeed.

Serving on our bar from this Friday 25 June, with retail boxes available in both profiles. 30kg all up, it will go as fast as Slow Coffee Roasters co-founder, Sam Dakin on his bike representing NZ at the Commonwealth Games shortly 🚴🏽‍♂️

A recent delivery from the Zurich based 🇨🇭

Been a while since we got our hands on their high quality goodness. Starting with an elegant Panama Abu Catuai Natural to a more funky Ecuador Sidra Anaerobic Natural. Flanked by two undeniably delicious Colombians, a Pink Bourbon and a Chiroso. All four coffees are in filter, with Chiroso available in espresso based drink also.
