💛 P**o Cheese 💛
The One That Started It All
When I first made our P**o Cheese, I honestly never expected so many people to love it! 🥹❤️
What started as something I simply wanted to try at home slowly turned into something more. I started receiving compliments and hearing people say how much they enjoyed it. And that got us thinking, “Maybe we can actually make and sell Filipino food?” 🤣🥰
The funny part? We’re not chefs. I’m not even a professional cook! 🤣 I’m just someone who learned how to cook, enjoys the process, and loves experimenting in the kitchen. ❤️
One thing that has always been in my mind is making traditional Filipino sweets that aren’t always easy to find here in Auckland. 🇵🇭🇳🇿 Living away from the Philippines, sometimes you just miss those familiar flavours from home. So I thought, why not learn to make them myself? And maybe, along the way, share them with other Filipinos who miss them too. 🥰
So I started learning, experimenting, adjusting recipes, making mistakes, trying again, and slowly getting better. Some recipes took several attempts before I was finally happy with them. 😂
And then came the unexpected part; people actually loved what I was making! 🥹❤️ Every “Ang sarap!”, every compliment, every repeat order, and every message of support gave us a little more confidence to keep going.
We never started this because we thought we were chefs. We started because we love Filipino food, we enjoy learning, and we wanted to bring a little taste of home to where we live. 🇵🇭❤️
And that’s how our little Kusina de Barrio journey began; one Filipino sweet, one recipe, and one experiment at a time. 🥰
Still learning. Still experimenting. Still making mistakes. 🤣
But most importantly, still enjoying the process. ❤️
Thank you to everyone who has supported us, ordered from us, shared our posts, and encouraged us along the way. You have no idea how much it means to us. 🥹🙏❤️
From our little kitchen in Auckland, with a whole lot of love and a little bit of craziness. 😂🇵🇭❤️
