TET - LUNAR NEW YEAR IS HERE 🧧
In old Hanoi, Tet was never loud.
It was quiet… but full of meaning.
It smelled like fresh d**g leaves being washed in cold winter water.
Like sticky rice carefully poured into bamboo baskets.
Like a pot of Banh Chung simmering overnight —father watching the fire,
mother preparing the ancestral tray,
children waiting for lucky red envelopes.
Banh Chung was never just food.
It was gratitude to the earth and sky.
It was a reminder that no matter how far we go, there is always a place to return to.
On the first morning of the Lunar New Year, a bowl of Pho begins the year.
Clear, slow-simmered broth.
Steam rising into the chilly air.
Spring onions, a squeeze of lime, a touch of chili.
Simple — yet enough to warm the entire year ahead.
Tet is here at Madam Yen.
Our restaurant is dressed in spring colours.
Greeting cards carry wishes of peace and prosperity.
Banh Chung is wrapped with care.
And bowls of Pho are still steaming —
just like mornings in Hanoi.
Whether you come from China, Korea, or anywhere in the world,
Tet in Vietnam is about family.
About reunion.
About sharing a table and feeling close again.
If you cannot go home this year,
Madam Yen is here to share Tet with you.
Because Tet is not just a celebration.
It is a feeling.
