As the weekend winds down & we all get ready for Monday morning, let’s talk about breathing for a second... 🌬️
We spend a lot of time thinking about what we put into our bodies here at The PlantBased Pantry & Cafe - from nutrient-dense whole foods to locally sourced Organics. But there is one vital nutrient we take for granted roughly 22,000 times a day.
Air.
You might have noticed "breathwork" popping up a lot in wellness conversations lately. It sounds fancy, but at its core, it is just the conscious practice of changing your breathing pattern to shift how you feel.
Think of it as a completely free, built-in remote control for your nervous system:
* The Gas Pedal: Fast, shallow chest breathing tells your brain you are stressed (hello, standard Monday morning).
* The Brake Pedal: Slow, deep belly breathing signals safety, instantly lowering your heart rate.
Most of us are stuck driving around Mid Canterbury with our feet flat on the gas pedal. Over the next few weeks, we are going to share a few simple ways to find the brake pedal using nothing but your breath.
