It's been a while!

We hope all of you have been keeping safe, we here at the cafe send you all of our best wishes as we mark more 8 weeks of this current lockdown!

Our priority has been working with the Yala Mandala family to ensure the safety of all our people through this time. We are continuing to do what we can and would like to thank our well wishers for the support we've seen in this time, we're so grateful ❤️

We have maintained our cooperation with the government and all local authorities in following existing guidelines at this time and will continue to do so.

Through the initiative of our amazing staff, we have decided to open up for DELIVERY around the area. So if you ever feel the need to take a break from a lot of the cooking you may have been doing, feel free to give us a call! 📞 We'd love to be of service!

Please give us a shout if you have any questions or thoughts or feedback at this time, we're all ears. Stay safe, and we hope to see you all soon!

SAMYAK EVENING CELEBRATION | WED 26 FEB 2020 |

COME HANG OUT WITH US AS OUR DOORS STAY OPEN TILL LATE, WE MIGHT SNEAK YOU A DRINK OR TWO

The very foundation of Patan and its people is built through tradition, age old stories, and community practices. One of the best opportunities to experience the blend of all of this amazing, living history is Samyak: a unique, once-every-five-years (!) Buddhist festival that sees the whole of Patan celebrate throughout the night in a mass procession of Buddha idols representing each and every little community within this city.

We couldn't be more excited to observe this special night from our premises which looks over a major street through which processions pass by!

Open call to all of our curious friends 🎉

Nepal Traveller reviews our restaurant at Yala Mandala!

"Dine Al Fresco at Yala Traditions!

As artistic as its ambience, the exquisite food here is bound to astound you.

Serving both local and international taste, Yala Tradition sustainably makes use of local products to prepare a dish that teases your taste buds for hours.

Unwind yourself in the serenity, maybe bask in the sun at the backyard garden, and try out their famous spaghetti. Go al fresco - a good book and a great dish might be your calling this season."

Thank you, Nepal Traveller, for the review.

Yala Mandala is proud to be featured in City Nomads (Singaporean curated guide to international travel), alongside Cosy Nepal, Metalwood, and Of silk and salt.

Here is what they had to say about us:

"Tight on time for shopping? Head over to Yala Mandala, a one-stop shopping destination for everything handcrafted. This artisan village houses a boutique, art gallery and café in an old heritage home. You’ll find a wide selection of quality ceramics, knitwear, jewellery, paper products showcasing traditional Nepali craftsmanship with a modern touch.

Insider tip: For a mid-day perk-me-up, have a cup of masala tea at Yala’s garden café. Their pancakes are also the fluffiest in town."

Thank you, Dora Aljoofri, for the words.

Yala Mandala is in love with the iconic sarangi.

This Nepalese folk and classical marvel of wood adapts to a versatile style of vocal music with its flexible tunability and ability to produce a large palette of tonal colour and emotional nuance.

Bowed with a heavy bow, and wrapped with goatskin, the sarangi has the power to closely imitate the nuances of the human voice.
