Representation matters. Sometimes, seeing someone with a similar background succeed is the encouragement you need to start and believe in yourself.

When I started my journey as an entrepreneur, I looked for people I could relate to. Immigrants building businesses in a new country, mompreneurs balancing family and work, women starting over in their 40s, and highly educated people who chose a different path to pursue their passion.

I was going through one of the darkest periods of my life. It was hard for me to be positive. Their stories helped me see new possibilities and gave me the motivation to keep going.

As I began sharing my own journey, I never imagined that my stories would resonate with others, too. I've received messages from people who told me that seeing someone with a similar background build a business in a country far from home made them feel encouraged and less alone.

It made me realize that representation goes both ways. We look for people who inspire us, but we may also become that person for someone else, simply by being open about our experiences.

I'm still learning, growing and figuring things out. My journey is far from perfect; I made TONS OF MISTAKES! but I'm glad that sharing it might help someone believe in their own possibilities.
