... when asked if we were going to hold a farewell party, we replied that we were going to turn our last working six months into one big farewell, giving everyone the chance to drop by as often as possible ... making time for everybody seemed nicer to us than just shaking hands for one evening ... but among all the memories from 47 years, we also found video footage on YouTube showing a number of party nights at De Bok ... enjoy these memories from the old days 😀🥳😉 ... and thank you Lex

... speaking of photography ... the last week that we were still in full swing, a dear friend came by to shoot a beautiful photo report of De Bok, with a loving eye for the many details ... what a valuable and special souvenir she made for us ♥♥ ... we'll therefore be happy to post a few of those regularly on this page, starting with the pics where we are still hard at work ... only a few months ago, but it already feels like a long time 😉...

... did Van Gogh ever visit De Bok? ... of course not (though his brother lived around the corner) but this lovely picture made and send by one of our guests is definite in his style 😉 ...

... as you probably know, we were always a great fan of recycling 😉 ... so we loved spotting our terrace tables being reused just around the corner ... and looking for an older picture with the same tables we came across this one with the red roses ... nice one to wish you all a Happy Valentine ... ♥♥

... and what if the baby arrives after the retirement and we can't use the shelf anymore for the newly born ... we'll just find another "shelf" we said ... so we welcome Pyke in our roofgarden leaning to the old welcoming teapot from De Bok ... and how about these lovely tulips for a bit of spring and celebration of a new life ... thank you Judith ♥♥

Update from two retirees: ... right now, we're enjoying our announced hibernation (and the weather did help 😉) getting as much rest as possible ... but we also look forward to meet you someday at the new "Café De Oude Bok" to catch up with a drink and a snack ... where we already tested the "bitterballen" ... they're delicious ...
