☕ Meet the Team – Denys!

Denys, our Head Roaster—or as we like to call him, HR. 🤭

Denys is responsible for sourcing our green coffee, roasting every batch to perfection, and solving just about every challenge that comes up in the roastery.

With nearly 20 years of experience in hospitality and specialty coffee, he’s worked in several countries, bringing a wealth of knowledge and expertise to our team. In 2025, he was also a finalist in the Dutch Brewers Championship, showcasing his passion and skill on the competition stage.

He’s also an engineer, which means he doesn’t just know how to roast exceptional coffee—he can fix almost anything in the roastery, too. 🔧

From selecting green coffee to keeping the roastery running smoothly, Denys is an essential part of our team.

That’s why we love him. ❤️

☕️ Two fantastic coffees. Two unique experiences. Which one are you brewing first?

🇷🇼 Ruronzi - Rwandan Anaerobic Natural coffee
120 hours of controlled anaerobic fermentation followed by slow drying on raised beds creates a vibrant, fruit-forward cup with notes of blueberry, melon, and cherry, complemented by a juicy mouthfeel and refined sweetness.

🍎🍫 El Vergel Decaf
Back by popular demand! Decaffeinated using the natural EA Sugarcane Process, this Colombian decaf retains all the character and complexity of the original coffee. Expect notes of sweet baked apple, prune, and dark chocolate with a silky-smooth mouthfeel.

Whether you’re chasing bright fruit notes or a comforting decaf experience, there’s something special waiting in your next cup.

Which one would you choose? 👇

🇹🇿 New Arrival: Acacia Hills Geisha

We are happy to welcome a new competition coffee from Tanzania to our collection.

Produced by Leon and Aideen Christianakis at Acacia Hills Coffee Estate in Oldeani, Karatu, this washed Geisha is grown at elevations of 1,750–1,950 masl and showcases the extraordinary potential of Tanzanian specialty coffee.

Expect a vibrant cup with notes of cloudberry, chamomile, and cane sugar. Juicy sweetness meets delicate florals and subtle berry characteristics, creating an elegant and memorable coffee experience.

☕️ Filter or espresso?

This coffee shines beautifully through both brew methods. Which one will you choose?

✨ Meet the Team: Jim ✨

is a key part of our production team. When he’s on shift, we know every order will be packed with speed and precision. To be honest, none of us can quite keep up with his pace! 📦⚡

Recently, Jim joined our internal Roasters Training Bootcamp and has been making great progress. We’re excited to see where this journey takes him. ☕🔥

When he’s not at MCR, Jim plays guitar in , performing gigs across Europe. He’s also a talented contemporary artist, creating incredible paintings in his spare time. 🎸🎨

We’re proud to have Jim on Team MCR! 🙌
P.S. We’d add Smudged’s music to this post, but Meta won’t let us. Go give them a listen instead! 🎸🎶

Today, we want to highlight one of the coffees that has remained a part of our lineup for years — Brooklyn ☕️

Brooklyn is an espresso blend originally inspired by the world of coffee competitions. Our goal was to bring the elegant and expressive character of high-quality Panamanian Geisha beyond the competition stage and into everyday cups — while keeping it approachable and affordable.

To achieve this, we combined coffees from two of our long-time partners: Finca Santa Teresa in Panama and Inacio Soares in Brazil.

The result is a beautifully balanced espresso with notes of candied orange, praline, and white flowers.

First introduced in 2021, Brooklyn has since become a favorite among many of our customers.

Today, we are excited to present a coffee from Peru for the very first time 🇵🇪☕️

We are constantly working to expand our range and discover new and exciting flavor experiences for you — and today, we’d like you to meet Rosa Dominguez.

This washed, double-fermented Geisha delivers a beautifully expressive cup that definitely won’t leave you indifferent.

Expect notes of red apple, clementine, and fudge, with a smooth and rounded aftertaste.
