Our opening night of One Love brought generations of BIRDies back together. Familiar faces, old stories, new memories and that feeling of coming home.

From an empty building and a vision to the club that keeps Rotterdam moving. 🪩

For 15 years, Club BIRD has been a home for nightlife, community and Black music culture. What started with a vision grew into a place where established names and emerging DJs, familiar faces and new crowds come together under one roof.

Hip-hop, R&B, soul, funk, Afro, house and everything in between. Every DJ set, packed dance floor and late-night moment has added another chapter to our story.

What an INSANE line up! 24 September: The Alternate Take Festival, created by BIRD, .of.knowledge, .north , and ! Put it on your agenda.

Our One Love celebration events are going strong, and the 24th of September will mark a special collaboration with seasoned colleagues.

Each one of us are putting forth amazing up and coming artists. To start:

Cult North, with . House of Knowledge, with . De Nieuwe Lichting, and .electronix. BIRD, with The Nest Vol. 5 and . We could describe them, but the video does a múch better job at explaining.

Last but not least: the night will be hosted by the eclectic !

Kay Slice is back at BIRD🔥 On Thursday 01 October, we’re closing out One Love and there’s only one way to do it: loud, live and on the dance floor.

On his upcoming album, I Take U Highlife , Kay Slice brings a fresh take on Ghanaian highlife, mixing Afrobeat, hip-hop, jazz, soul and raw percussion into a sound that moves between roots and the future.

Without the rather bizarre story of jazz legend Charlie Parker, BIRD, would probably not be called BIRD. His influence on the genre was enormous, and his joyous, charismatic presence still ripples through in our present day lives.

Today we share the story of how Charlie “Bird” Parker got his nickname, and why the founder of BIRD chose that as the name we all know and love today.
