About us
Here we are: La Bottega di Amore e Putipu finally is real and we are happy, excited, and (almost) ready for this new adventure that has been a dream for too long.
We are Daniele and Roberta, an Italian couple since 2010 with a wonderful two years old child, Ian Mikhael. We met by accident at a common friend’s and fell in love at first sight… And with the love, nicknames started too: “Amore” is Daniele’s one and “Putipu” has been Roberta’s nickname until we discovered that “putipu” is a traditional drum used in the South of Italy…yes, he still swears that he didn’t know!
Our first big adventure has been in Scotland, Edinburgh, where we lived for the better part of five years pursuing our academic career (yep, we’re a former biologist and psychologist). After many passionate years of studies, several bad experiences and too many broken promises, our love for the academic world started to decline and us with it.
We knew that what we needed was a big change, something on which we could invest our passion again because, as Cesare Pavese once said: “Smiling is living like a wave or a leaf, accepting the destiny. It is dying with a shape and reborn with another one”, and La Bottega is our new, marvellous shape! However, this new concept, it is not about just our passion for cooking (and yes, also eating) high quality food.
