Spoofing scam calls are on the rise!

If you ever get a call from someone claiming to be a customer service or fraud representative from your bank, pump the brakes before answering any questions - even if it is the right caller ID! Using “caller ID spoofing,” scammers can make it look like they’re calling from your bank’s phone number.

Just remember: Banks typically don’t call you asking for personal information, they already have that on file! If you get a call like this, tell the scammer thank you, but I will call my local bank representative and talk this issue through. A legitimate representative from your bank will never take issue with you hanging up and calling the number on the back of your debit card or your personal contact at the bank.
