Juana la Dama is een Argentijns restaurant in Amsterdam, waar de warmte en de smaakbeleving van Buenos Aires samengaan met een zorgvuldig samengestelde wijnkaart. Op onze menukaart draait alles om authentieke empanadas, sappige steaks op Argentijnse wijze en tapas om samen te delen. Van woensdag tot en met zaterdag openen wij onze deuren voor een intiem diner in het hart van Amsterdam. Bij Juana la Dama creëren we elke avond een sfeer die je meeneemt naar het andere einde van de wereld. Escabeche is one of those things we grew up with. 😋

Vegetables, vinegar, good oil and a bit of patience. It is my grandmother’s recipe, passed on to my mother and then to me, and we still make it exactly the same way.

We serve it as a starter, and it is usually the dish that surprises people who ordered it without knowing what it was.

Dulce de leche is one of those flavours that will always taste like home to us. ❤️

So naturally, we put it in three desserts: our crêpes, our homemade flan and a dulce de leche mousse.

And if choosing one feels impossible, just order all three on one plate.

Two sauces. Always. ❤️

Chimichurri on one side, salsa criolla on the other, and a steak that really does not need much more than that.

The bottle next to it is a Sikuri from Jujuy. That is what we would pour with this one any time.

People ask us about the name more than about anything else. ❤️

Juana la Dama comes from the damajuana, the big bottle of w**e that gets passed around the table back home. Nobody was ever meant to finish one on their own.

So that is what we built this place around. A long table, a bottle in the middle, and no hurry.
