Since the beginning of this year, Lot61 has been hosting my art.
Two of those paintings belong to my series The Mountain Is You, and they will be the inspiration for our evening together.
Why mountains?
Well, the Netherlands doesn't have any.
I miss them. I know many of you do too.
So why not paint them :)
But there is so much more to say about mountains.
Historically they have been used as a metaphor for spiritual awakening, journeys of personal growth, and challenges that seem impossible when you're standing at the bottom.

That is pretty much how I felt when I painted the mountain I have been climbing for the past five years.
My intention with this workshop is to give you the opportunity to connect with yourself, reflect on your own journey, and connect with the people around you. That is the gift art brought into my life, and what I would like to share with you.
We will use texture, of course.
I am also especially happy to be hosting this workshop at Lot61, a place that holds a very special place in my heart.
Lot61 was the place that got me out of bed when I was recovering from depression and hearing loss. When getting up seemed almost impossible. Because of the people, I never stopped coming. Every day this is mine and Malina's morning ritual.
Hosting an art workshop here feels meaningful in a way that is hard to put into words.
Lot61 will be serving signature drinks that fit our theme throughout the evening, which I am very excited about :)
