These aloo pies are so simple to make and yet, broski, they just BANG spiced potato, spiced with cumin, fenugreek and of course a little scotch bonnet, in a pillowy light and fluffy dough, served with a tangy and sweet tamarind sauce and yoghurt sauce! The perfect snack, if you ask me, you didn’t but I feel obliged to tell you anyway!?! 😝🤤

We’re opening our doors for our second artist residency at Atelier Code Noir — this July, welcoming the incredible Stephanie De Jesús. Puerto Rican born, Stephanie encapsulates Latin American culture in vivid, colour-drenched work — iconography that transcends European grey skies and brings Puerto Rico within reach.

You’re invited

óleo — an exhibition by Stephanie De Jesús

Have you ever noticed how muted our walls are?

Raised in Puerto Rico and shaped by life across New York City and Amsterdam, Stephanie’s work carries colour as a language. Through expressive portraiture, layered storytelling, and the vibrant palette of Latin America, she paints what it means to carry home with you — wherever you end up.

óleo (Spanish for oil painting) bridges worlds — bringing the warmth and visual richness of the Caribbean into European spaces and beyond.

As always at Atelier Code Noir, we celebrate the intersections of food, culture, and art. Expect classic Puerto Rican food — yes, mofongo — and drinks available on the evening.

Join us at Atelier Code Noir — a creative studio and third space for connection, creativity, and representation.

When: July 1st
Where: Atelier Code Noir
Time: 18:00-21:00
RSVP: Via link in bio

You know when you’re told not to play with your food as a child but what if you make playing with food, fi*****ng it, smearing it, toying with it a profession?
Then you get to play all day long. I loved working in shoots with photographers learning about new cuisines, outside of my repertoire and god damn playing around with food, beautifying it to make gorgeous pictures like these.

Life has been an absolute 🌪️ I guess as it always promised to be in this year of the fire horse!

After many years of trying but not managing, because we’re both busy ladies, I finally got the chance to work with from talking about whirlwinds, this woman knows how to get things DONE.

I hosted a wonderful night for their Communities dinners with some exceptional female entrepreneurs. It was a night of good food, good drinks and incredible company.

I made:
Popadums with sweet potato cavier.

Jamaican peppered shrimp dumplings in a bisque with Chandon Beni oil

Peppa pepper skewers accompanied by pineapple and cucumber chow, & finally rice and peas

All finished off with Tres Lecche with orange zest and finished off with some of that fresh from the Island of spice (Grenada) cinnamon.
