It’s a bit of a long story time, but for all those who kept asking what happened to my hand, I have finally answered

I used my hands today
like they were on borrowed time.
Not because I was being dramatic
but because I knew
by the end of the day…
they wouldn’t be mine in the same way.

It’s strange how something so ordinary
can suddenly feel like a privilege.
Washing the dog.
Holding my sons
Moving without thinking.

And then just like that
you’re back in a hospital room
being reminded
how quickly life can shift.

No warning.
No build up.
Just… change.

So if you’re in a season
where your body, your mind, or your life
feels unfamiliar
maybe this is your reminder:
Use what you have.
While you have it.
Because healing…
isn’t just about getting back to normal.
It’s about learning to appreciate
Your current state of.“normal”
