4 ELEMENTOS is a high-end off-grid guest house spanning over 5 organic acres. We are located on the Northern flanks of dormant Maderas Volcano (which is also a Cloud Forest) and part of the UNESCO Island Biosphere Reserve that is Ometepe! Situated at 100meters elevation our property offers jaw-dropping views of active Concepcion Volcano and Lake Nicaragua (Lago Cocibolca). At this moment we have t
wo beautifully decorated luxury suites available to guests. Each comes with a furnished private porch as well as a private fully tiled bathroom with hot-water rain shower. The two suites share a fully equipped kitchen and an under-cover communal dining area (with a bonus active volcano view). The house and property feature many sustainable practices including 100% solar energy, 100% solar hot water, passive-cooling, bio-digestors to process black water, LED lighting throughout, gray water leech fields, organic farming techniques used throughout, reforestation and water saving flush toilets. In each room we have placed a comprehensive guest manual that explains everything from what to do (i.e. Ometepe Activities List with prices as well as a list of bilingual guides you can use), where to eat (i.e. list of different restaurants in area as well as menus of those restaurants that make home deliveries to us!), and how to get around (i.e. we have provided a list of taxi drivers with phone numbers as well as places that will deliver a rental scooter or off-road motorbike to you for the day). Our staff will even call them on your behalf if you want. :-)
Also for your convenience, we offer a breakfast service the cost of which is US$3.50 per breakfast. Our breakfasts include *tea/organic coffee shade-grown on our very own Maderas Volcano (and freshly roasted in our own roaster ;-) *freshly made juice of the day, *seasonal fruit plate, *hot breakfast including 2 eggs, gallo pinto (rice and beans), fried plantain and Nicaraguan white cheese. In general, we aim to please and promise you an unforgettable experience! Are we right for you? Some things to keep in mind;
1) As a 100% solar-energy run property, our energy supply is not unlimited. While we have sized our solar system well, during extended overcast periods guests will need to be more mindful of their consumption. This really means switching off ceiling fans when not in use.
2) The last 700meters to us is along a dirt and bumpy road. The road is always passable by taxis and scooters but lower clearance vehicles will find it more challenging.
3) We cannot guarantee uninterrupted WIFI. During high winds and storm conditions we may lose signal. Most of the time, however, we enjoy a good high-speed WIFI.
4) We have two large dogs on the property. They are absolutely lovely but they do bark at strangers until they get comfortable.
5) Ometepe as a biosphere has its fair share of insects and spiders. If you have a phobia to either, you may find that Ometepe, in general, is not the right place for you.
6) We accept US$, Nicaraguan Cordobas, Bitcoin and Ethereum Classic! We also are active on AirBNB where you can pay through their platform.
