I always tell people that Cooking is Quite Therapeutic for Me. It is one of the ways i ease tension and stay afloat when everything else is noisy.

For this week, i had a Guest Kitchen Assistant Ihuoma Glory.

I learnt a lot from my conversation with her. I had always wanted to ask some vital questions about SEVENTH DAY ADVENTIST and she really answered them to my understanding.

For the soup, i do not think i got the desired result, but the most important thing na say thr soup sweet.

Thanks to Cherish Remi for supplying me with Ahoada fufu.

My next guest Could be You. So stay Alert.

It's a BEANS Kinda weekend.

Here’s a brief history about beans via google AI;

Beans, primarily cowpeas (Vigna unguiculata), are an ancient staple in Nigeria, with West Africa being a major center of domestication for thousands of years. Cultivated primarily as a crucial, affordable protein source, they hold immense cultural significance and are staples in dishes like moi-moi and akara.

Key Historical & Culinary Highlights:
• Indigenous Roots: Domesticated thousands of years ago in West Africa, with significant varieties originating in regions comprising modern-day Nigeria.
• Pre-colonial Era: Beans were a key subsistence crop, staple food, and foundational part of the local diet long before formal colonial farming records.
• Ewa Oloyin (Honey Beans): A popular brown, sweet variety (ewa oloyin) that thrives in West Africa and is a staple in Southwestern Nigeria.
• Ewa Agoyin Influence: A beloved street food combining mashed beans with a spiced sauce, popularised in the 1960s by migrants from the Benin Republic.
• Modern Varieties: Today, Nigeria consumes a wide variety of beans, including brown beans, white beans, and iron-fortified beans aimed at fighting malnutrition.
• Soybean Introduction: Introduced in 1908, soybean production became successful by the late 1930s, particularly in the northern regions like Benue.

At age 9, I learnt how to make this very delicious food. I never for once thought that it would get to the stage where I commercialize it, however, the journey has been nothing short of exciting.

Through my emergence into the scene, I have been able to introduce this special meal to over 300 plus people that never knew the food existed.

There is still work to be done and with over 6 years in this business, I am no where close to where I want it to be, nevertheless, I am so sure we have made a positive mark over the Years.

This is me saying THANK YOU to everyone that have walked this path with us. Thank you for your love and support.

Welcome to the New Week.
