My Culinary Journey
My career journey began in 2016, when I made the bold decision to become a cook. After gaining foundational knowledge and hands on experience, I took a big step in 2020 by starting my own small food business. I sold noodles under a canopy from 2020 to 2021, driven by passion, consistency, and the desire to grow.
In 2022, I realized that growth requires more knowledge, so I decided to further develop my skills and understanding of the culinary profession. After completing the program, I received a call from someone very dear to me more like an aunty, as I fondly call her. She said, “Zee, there is a kitchen space in a hotel. Can you come and take it? I agreed immediately and stepped into that opportunity with dedication and commitment.
Still hungry for growth, I made another major decision in 2025 to become a professional chef, with a focus on continental cuisine. This choice was fueled by my desire to gain deeper knowledge that would enable me to run my business smoothly and professionally.
Today, I stand proudly with a brand I started building as far back as 2020 Zimmyonye Kitchen. This is just the beginning. Give me two years, and the testimony will be loud.
