A Day of Compassion: D’Fudi Cuisine Extends Love to Yelewata Massacre Victims
On a warm and hopeful afternoon (21-6-25) in Makurdi, the team at D’Fudi Cuisine embarked on a heartfelt mission - to bring warmth, nourishment, and comfort to the survivors of the devastating Yelewata massacre, now displaced and seeking refuge at the Makurdi International Market.
With pots simmering and hearts full of empathy, our dedicated staff prepared generous 2500 portions of delicious, hearty meals to ensure that those in the camp are fed. The aroma of freshly cooked food brought smiles to the faces of men, women, and children who have endured unimaginable hardship. But we didn’t stop there—understanding their need for basic necessities, we also donated clothes to provide some relief and dignity to those who had lost so much.
This initiative would not have been possible without the unwavering support of the management and staff of D’Fudi Cuisine led by Dr Mrs Dorcas Doom Akpoghol, whose commitment to giving back to the community remains steadfast. We also extend our deepest and sincere gratitude to the Benue State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) and their dedicated staff for supporting with food items and support in making this outreach a success.
However, the needs of the displaced remain vast. We call on well-meaning Nigerians, corporate organizations, and humanitarian groups to join hands in supporting these vulnerable families. Whether through food, clothing, medical aid, or shelter, every act of kindness brings hope and healing to those who have lost everything.
At D’Fudi Cuisine, we believe that no act of compassion is ever too small. Today, we served more than just a meal - we served love, solidarity, and a reminder that even in the darkest times, humanity shines brightest when we stand together.
