This is Sammie, aka Johnny Faster and he is 19 years old. Sammie runs a small fast food joint. He started out as a shack in Atebong drive, Calabar, six years ago while he was in secondary school; under a boss, who didn't see potentials in this little business and left for Lagos.
Sammie finished secondary school in 2012 and took over management of the business, which has grown from a wooden stand to a very neat shop. Back then, he worked in a drink retail store by day and worked making noodles from 6pm till midnight daily.

Sam lost his elder brother last year, but is hopeful for the future; about to round up his computer school and then try for admission in the University of Calabar.

PS: Sammie makes some awesome noodles.

Mr. Israel A.K.A. Alhaji, started out as a business man in the early 1960s. He has dealt in textile, electronics and even vehicle spare-parts - here in Nigeria and in over 5 countries across Europe.

He is over 70 years now and is retired and spends a lot of his time is his little provision store. As father of 7, he told us "I tell my kids from time to time - in business, never you eat any person's money. If someone gives you money, always give account. If someone offers you credit, make sure you pay up".

He said to us that he spent his business years striving to abide by four (4) key principles: Patience, Peace, Trust and Contentment. And then he said - "Never you rush Anything. Everything and Anything should take time".

Ibrahim comes from Tillaberi in Niger. He says he moved to Nigeria in 2011 so that he can 'Shine His Eyes'.

Apart from his everyday running of his shop, Ibro also works as a 'Gate Man' for a house of about 8 tenants, washes cars every morning and secures the compound.

Ibro always seems delightful and is a generous person. He nurtures plans to prepare for GCE and attend university someday.

He told us - There is a lot more that one can get if one gives freely but wisely, and if one is always willing to offer help.

We fondly call her 'Auntie'.

Her name is Janet and she has been in the food business for over 27 years now.

She started in Asaba (Delta State) in 1987 selling Groundnuts along the Federal Highway. She later combined it with Bananas in 1990, before deciding to move into Lagos in 2001.

She has been into some sorts of food ever since - from Mangoes, to Garri and even Abacha. She has finally settled with just Fruits. A Gentle and Kind, yet Tough and Enduring Woman.

She remains steadfast in her labour of love everyday in bringing food closer to home.
