Today marks 250 years of America 🇺🇸

As Nigeria’s first original American brunch restaurant, we thought it was a nice moment to reflect on the culture, food, and experiences that inspired Cafeteria from the very beginning.

When Taiwo and Kehinde Smith created Cafeteria, the goal wasn’t to recreate America in Lagos. It was to create a space where Americans, repatriates, Nigerians who had lived abroad, and curious food lovers could all sit at the same table and enjoy a little taste of American brunch culture right here in Nigeria.

From chicken and waffles to stacks of pancakes and everything in between, we’ve loved sharing some of our favourite American classics with this city over the years.

Most importantly, we’re proud to be a Nigerian business built by Nigerians, serving Lagos every single day.

Thank you to everyone who gave us the opportunity to introduce something different to the city all those years ago.
