I am always guilty of eating a portion of my dry fish before adding it to the soup 😂
This was one habit I am so used to that I was thinking I will grow past it with age but the reverse is the case I didn't in fact now it's worst now to the extent that for me to stop it I Will have to stop buying dry fish.
I cannot believe that this particular crime that I'm very guilty of I feel bad when I give my daughter dry fish to pick and she's eating it what an irony😂

Nigerian markets will teach you that every stage of a fruit has somebody waiting to buy it. 😂 Nothing is wasted!

Healthy eating doesn't always have to come from abroad. Sometimes it's been in our kitchens all along. ❤️

I just read something about ogiri igbo ( fermented castor bean) that got thinking 🤔 of how medical our local ingredients are.

It says that Ogiri may be able eliminate tumóór and also get rid of c@ncer cells in the body

Prescription: take 2 tea spoons daily

Our grandparents cooked with ingredients like ogiri, iru, dawadawa, uda, uziza, ehuru, prekese, scent leaf, bitter leaf, and so many others long before healthy eating became a trend.

Please that doesn't mean every health claim we see online is true. We should always separate traditions from science.
But one thing is certain: our local foods deserve more research, more appreciation, and a place on our tables.
What local ingredients do you think is underrated? Let's talk in the comments. 👇🏾
