Sometimes I wonder what some people call fasting.
Some people intentionally or because work is plenty skip meals and say they are fasting,
Others just want to lose weight or get flat tummy without doing things right
I just want to say no ki11 yourself ooo, I beg 🙏🏽
Skipping meals anyhow is not fasting.
This week, I want to talk about fasting, what it really means and what it does to our body system, from a nutrition and food-as-medicine point of view.
So what is fasting?
* Fasting is not starvation.
* It is not punishment.
* It is not suffering.
Fasting is the intentional pause from eating to allow the body to rest, repair, and rebalance.
Food is medicine but rest from food is also medicine.
When we fast properly:
* Our digestive system gets a break
* Blood sugar and insulin stabilize
* The body begins self-cleaning
* Inflammation reduces
Fasting is not about eating less,Fasting is about healing better.
