It’s been almost a year now of going on and off with my business since i got pregnant.
At first, i thought i was strong enough to keep up with everything… until the health issues started and i simply couldn’t anymore.
Since i had two apprentices then, and one of them was quite good at small chops, i decided to continue taking orders from home while giving instructions remotely. Honestly, i thought i had things under control 😅
Until one day… i took an order for 40 meat pies.
First issue? They didn’t come out early, which automatically affected delivery time. Then, as if that wasn’t enough, my oven gas decided to finish at that exact moment 🥴
My clients started calling and i didn’t even know what to say.
That was the moment i told myself:
“Fati, this is not the right way.”
I would rather go on a break than ruin the reputation i’ve worked hard to build.
Fast forward to my second trimester, i announced we were back because i thought i was finally stronger 😂 But pregnancy hormones said:
“Madam, relax first.”
Then close to delivery, i tried to make another comeback plan so i could fully resume after childbirth… but my twins clearly had other plans for me 😭🤣
Somewhere in the middle of all the on-and-off, i came across a business structuring class for food businesses by and immediately joined the waitlist because deep down, i knew that was exactly what my business needed.
The class has taken place and honestly, it’s one of the best investments i’ve made for myself and my business.
This whole season has taught me that there’s a difference between knowing how to bake… and knowing how to build a business that can truly function and grow properly.
And as much as you all miss our small chops, trust me… i miss creating those love-filled boxes for you too 🥹
This time, i don’t just want to return.
I want to return better.
Better systems, better structure, better service… and by Allah’s grace, a better version of Treats by Fasab 🤍
