Before somebody starts shouting, “Is Amala healthy?” — please, allow us to finish our presentation.

Why Amala is actually a great meal:

1. Energy:
Amala is rich in carbohydrates, so it gives your body fuel. Basically, the battery charger has arrived.

2. Fibre:
Especially when made from yam flour, amala can contribute fibre to your meal — good news for digestion and your “toilet affairs.”

3. The real MVP is the soup:
Pair it with vegetable-rich ewedu, and you add vitamins, minerals and fibre to the plate.
