Some places are meant to be explored. 🏜️✨

Hidden within the Namib Desert, Sesriem Canyon was carved by the Tsauchab River over thousands of years. The canyon reaches up to 30 metres deep and stretches for roughly a kilometer, creating a dramatic contrast to the vast desert landscape above.

And the name? “Sesriem” means “six belts” - referring to the six leather straps early settlers joined together to reach water at the bottom of the canyon.

From towering rock walls to the quiet desert paths below, Sesriem Canyon is a reminder that there is so much more to discover around Sossusvlei.
