Before ratatouille became one of JDV's most beloved dishes — it started as a story.
Most people know ratatouille from a Pixar film. A humble French dish of slow-cooked vegetables that somehow moved a hardened food critic to tears.
We understand why.

There is something about ratatouille done properly — the patience it takes, the way the vegetables absorb each other, the simplicity that somehow tastes like everything is exactly where it should be — that stays with you long after the plate is empty.

This photo is from Sunway International School's International Day. We were invited to represent France — and we brought ratatouille skewers with brioche croutons to the students and teachers. Many had never tried it before. Most came back for seconds.
It was that day we knew ratatouille belonged at JDV permanently.
Today it lives in our Seabass Ratatouille — our first signature dish and still one of our most ordered. Flaky seabass, slow-cooked ratatouille, served the way it deserves to be.
What started at a school event became part of what JDV is.
Simple. Honest. Full of heart. 🤍

Sunway International School hosted their International Day — and we were asked to bring Italy, France, and Mexico to life through food and drinks.⁣
⁣
𝐓𝐡𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬. 𝐎𝐧𝐞 𝐉𝐃𝐕 𝐤𝐢𝐭𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐧. Here’s what we served:⁣

🇮🇹 𝐈𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐲 — Arancini with Pomodoro Sauce, Bicerin⁣
🇫🇷 𝐅𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 — Ratatouille Skewers, Citron Pressé⁣

Every item was made from scratch. Every dish was chosen to authentically represent its country — not a shortcut, not a simplified version, but the real thing, prepared with care.⁣

So we redesigned Lunch @ 13.

Same RM13. Same fresh lime juice included. But now — two focused choices every day, Monday to Friday. One meat. One vegetarian. Both made properly.

12pm – 3pm. Monday to Friday. Dine-in only.

Dr. Alvin Teoh came to JDV with his family.
He wasn't expecting much. Just a meal out, a café in Taipan, somewhere comfortable to sit with the people he loves.
But something caught him off guard.
"What bowled me over was the human touch."
No QR codes. No impersonal ordering systems. Just someone who looked at his table, understood what they needed, and made genuine recommendations like a person who actually cared.

Food 5/5. Service 5/5. Atmosphere 5/5.

Something new just landed at JDV. 🍫
Meet Brogato and Brocolato — two new desserts that started as an idea in the kitchen and ended up being something we're genuinely excited about.

Brogato — affogato with brownies. Hot espresso poured over ice cream, with brownie pieces that soak up everything and become something else entirely. RM15 at launch.

Brocolato — gelato, brownies, and chocolate drink. Rich, cold, deeply chocolatey. The kind of thing you order thinking you'll share — and then don't. RM16 at launch.

These are launching prices. They won't stay here forever.

Every Sunday, without fail — our team collects and recycles every cardboard box from the week. 📦♻️

It's a small act. But we believe small acts — done consistently — add up to something meaningful.

Last week we hosted our first JDV Circle session on ESG. And one thing Prof. Cheah Kok Hoong — President of ESG Association of Malaysia — said stayed with me:
"ESG is not something you do once. It's something you are — every single day."

This is us, being it. Every Sunday. One cardboard box at a time.

We're not a perfect business. But we're a business that genuinely tries — to serve people well, to treat our team right, and to leave this planet a little better than we found it.
