Last Minute DIY Graduation Basket

It wasn't the most impressive gift in the hall, but it was made full of love. Most probably, our son didn't expect anything from us, except for our attendance.

I think the bear will be in many future bouquets or baskets after this ... and next time, we need to find a bigger container 😁.

p/s - the most expensive item was that origami mortarboard!! It took 3 hours to complete 🤣.

Is it QUICHE season?
We've gotten a few orders of customed fillings this week.

This one is abt 11 inches, can probably feed a family of 6-7.

Homemade, buttery shortcrust pastry, with custard (eggs and cream) are loaded with mushrooms, spinach, chicken, cherry tomatoes and one had salmon as well.

A scoop of the birthday tiramisu 🎂.

We usually make our tiramisu using heavy cream & mascapone. However, our fridge was messed up and the heavy became frozen. When defrosted, it wasn't suitable for the tiramisu.

In panic mode and not running to the store, we opted to use the 'classic' way of making tiramisu, which uses eggs!

Lo and behold, the taste is amazing! It is much more richer and creamier, but it is not as firm when using heavy cream.

We shall see how it stay in the fridge, hopefully it can last another day or two.

p/s - Raw eggs in desserts scare us. We found some websites mentioned that tampering the eggs can kill samonella. So, we ended up tampering the eggs for a bit. No casualty and the white eggs still turned into stiff meringue.
