From Segamat all the way — Segamat Power! ⚡️
For this competition, I focused on green analysis (density, moisture, screen size), followed by IKAWA sample roasting and cupping to understand flavour potential.
The competition roaster had strong airflow and convection heat, so I chose a faster roast with extended developmentto build sweetness while keeping clarity.
Result in the cup: bright acidity, floral notes, dark berries, high sweetness, and a long tea-like finish.
Great learning experience, pushed me out of my comfort zone.
This competition was full of strong roasters — huge respect to all fellow competitors. Every batch showed skill, understanding, and care for the coffee. Learned a lot from watching and sharing ideas with everyone
