Step into the vibrant streets of Penang—right here at The Kitchen Society—as Nyonya Su Pei returns to share the secrets behind one of Malaysia’s most iconic dishes.

Here’s what you’ll be mastering:

🍜 Penang Assam Laksa
Bold, tangy, spicy—this is the comfort bowl for many Malaysians. Learn to build a rich, deeply aromatic broth using fresh mackerel, tamarind, torch ginger, and local herbs. Top it with refreshing garnishes like pineapple, mint, cucumber, and of course, a swirl of hay koh (fermented prawn paste) for that unmistakable Penang punch.

🍜 Homemade Laksa Noodles

It has been a truly rewarding experience collaborating with Grand Hyatt, a globally renowned 5-star hotel, for the campaign.

As part of this collaboration, we presented two curated pop-up experiences:
• Private Dining with – an intimate showcase of refined Nyonya cuisine
• Gerai @ JP – featuring three dishes at our Nasi Lemak Berlauk stall: Beef Rendang, Roasted Duck Curry, and Mango Sambal Belacan

Our sincere thanks to the entire team at Grand Hyatt for their trust and support throughout this journey.
A special note of appreciation to Chef Amir — his professionalism, dedication, and hard work during the event were truly admirable.

We look forward to more meaningful collaborations ahead.
