Introducing Chef Lee

A new chapter begins in the kitchen at La Yang Poolside Restaurant.

Born and raised in sunny Langkawi, Chef Lee brings 20 years of culinary experience, passion, and dedication to our kitchen team.

His love for cooking began at home, inspired by his mother. From helping her in the kitchen to being involved in her food business, Chef Lee discovered his passion at an early age and knew that cooking was what he wanted to pursue.

His culinary journey began humbly in 2009 as a Kitchen Helper at Berjaya Hotel, Langkawi Lagoon, and Awana Porto Malai. These early experiences taught him the fundamentals of kitchen discipline, maintaining high hygiene standards, and most importantly, how to work smart as part of a team.

After moving to Kuala Lumpur, Chef Lee’s career continued to grow. Over the years, he developed his expertise across a variety of cuisines, specialising in Western, Malay Fusion, Western Fusion, Thai, and Middle Eastern cuisine.

Today, Chef Lee joins La Yang Poolside Restaurant with a passion not only for creating great food, but also for sharing his knowledge and experience with the next generation of kitchen talents.

He believes that great food starts with a great team, and with discipline, teamwork, and a genuine love for what they do, the kitchen can create something truly special.
