Today we say goodbye to a man who shaped the very soul of Passage Thru India.

Chef Shankar Pandurang Kadam was our founding Executive Chef, a master of his craft, trained at the very highest level with the Taj Group in India, before bringing his immense knowledge, discipline, and heart to Malaysia. When we first opened our doors over 30 years ago, it was Chef Kadam who established our menu and laid the culinary foundation that still defines us today.

He led our kitchen for over a decade before retiring, but his presence never truly left. His recipes, his standards, his quiet authority and dedication live on in every dish we serve.

His service to our family and our restaurant is beyond words. We are deeply grateful, forever indebted, and profoundly honoured to have shared a chapter of our journey with him.

Rest in peace, Chef Kadam.
Your legacy will always be part of us.
