Established in 1398 during the reign of Taejo Yi, Seong-gye, the founder and first monarch of the Joseon dynasty of Korea, Jinsa Restaurant has a rich history. It was situated near Sungkyunkwan, an ancient university in Korea, known for its lecture hall, Myeongryundang. The name 'Myeongryundang' is derived from the phrase 'enlightening human ethics' found in 'Mencius' . Jinsa Restaurant was more than just a dining hall. After finishing his lectures, the king would occasionally join the students for a meal, enjoying meat and other dishes. This tradition of
