Wee Jian Yee（黄建謁）的性格一直比较内向。早在2022年，他还是小学生的时候，已经跟随 Thiam 老师学习乌克丽丽两年，打下了不错的音乐基础。
进入中学后，Thiam 老师发现他在弹拨乐器方面很有潜能，于是鼓励他尝试升级学习电吉他。刚开始时，建謁有些担心自己学不来，而且电吉他的乐器与器材费用也不低。为了让他能够安心尝试，Thiam 老师特别借给他一把普通电吉他带回家练习两个月。没想到，就是这两个月，让他的潜能彻底爆发！🔥

老师也带着他到不同场地演出，包括知名音乐商店 Swee Lee 以及 Rockfest 舞台，让他累积了宝贵的现场表演经验。
如今的建謁已经深深爱上电吉他，并将在今年挑战 RSL Electric Guitar Grade 4 考级！

另外偷偷分享一个小秘密：

Wee Jian Yee has always been a rather quiet and introverted student. Back in 2022, when he was still in primary school, he had already spent two years learning ukulele with Teacher Thiam, building a solid musical foundation.

After entering secondary school, Teacher Thiam noticed his strong potential and encouraged him to take the next step into electric guitar. At first, Jian Yee was worried that he might not be able to cope with the challenges, and electric guitar equipment can be quite expensive as well.

To help him get started, Teacher Thiam generously lent him a basic electric guitar to practice at home for two months.What happened next was amazing — his talent truly exploded! 🔥

Teacher Thiam brought him to perform at various venues, including the renowned Swee Lee music store and the Rockfest stage, giving him valuable live performance experience.

Because of these opportunities, Jian Yee developed a deep passion for electric guitar. This year, he is preparing to take the RSL Electric Guitar Grade 4 examination!

And here's a fun fact about Thiam Guitar
Our academy is currently dominated by girls — they make up about 80% of our students! 😂

Thiamguitar 我们两夫妻创业故事（七）｜连载中…

SJKC Thai Tung 大同华小到了第二年，也就是 2019 年，学生人数渐渐增加了。由于当时经验还不足，Thiam老师开始觉得需要助教一起帮忙教学。
后来在朋友介绍下，我认识了 Sean 老师（VS Lee）。他年轻有为，也是一位非常尽责的老师。学生们都很喜欢他的教学方式，他总是很有耐心，也很认真对待每一位学生。
那时候，我还打算未来能和他一起合作，把我们的教学事业做得更好、更长远。
但后来却不幸听到，他被诊断患上癌症末期，并且在 2022 年离开了😭。那时候的他还很年轻，甚至比我小10岁。
这件事让我深深体会到，人生真的很无常。很多事情，如果现在不去做，以后可能就再也没有机会了。

也因为这样，我更加坚定要继续做好自己的事业，继续坚持自己热爱的音乐教育，让自己活得快乐，也希望把快乐带给更多学生。❤️

Thiamguitar Our Entrepreneur Journey (7)｜To Be Continued…

By the second year at SJKC Thai Tung in 2019, the number of students gradually increased. Since Teacher Thiam was still lacking experience at that time, I realized I needed an assistant teacher to help with the classes.
Through a friend’s introduction, I got to know Teacher Sean (VS Lee). He was young, talented, and a very dedicated teacher. The students truly enjoyed his teaching style because he was always patient and sincere with every student.
At that time, I even planned to work together with him in the future to grow our music education into something bigger and long-lasting.
Unfortunately, later on, I received the heartbreaking news that he had been diagnosed with terminal cancer. He sadly passed away in 2022😭. He was still very young — even 10 years younger than me.
This experience made me deeply realize how unpredictable life can be. If we don’t pursue the things we truly want to do now, we may lose the chance forever.

Because of that, I became even more determined to continue building my music事业, to keep doing what I truly love, and to bring happiness through music education to more students. ❤️

后来我慢慢发现，我的性格其实很适合教导儿童，于是开始计划专注于小学生教学。而当时我的太太 Kary Eu，也非常努力地主动联络 KL 一带超过10间 SKJC 华小，希望能争取机会让我进入校园教授乌克丽丽。
后来运气很好，我们得到了大同华小副校长的回复。就这样，我们从 2018 年开始进入第一家华小教学乌克丽丽。刚开始时，只有 6 位学生。
那段时间，我太太一直鼓励我：“只要你用心栽培他们，一定会得到校方和家长的认同。”
果然，慢慢到了第二年，也就是 2019 年，学生人数开始渐渐增加。看到学生们的成长，还有家长与学校的支持，真的让我们更加坚定继续走下去...

Later on, I slowly realized that my personality was actually very suitable for teaching children. That was when I decided to focus more on teaching primary school students.
At the same time, my wife, Kary Eu, worked very hard to proactively contact more than 10 Chinese primary schools (SKJC) around KL, hoping to create an opportunity for me to enter schools and teach ukulele.
Fortunately, we received a reply from the vice principal of SJKC Tai Thong. In 2018, we officially started teaching ukulele at our very first Chinese primary school. At the beginning, we only had 6 students.
During that period, my wife kept encouraging me:
“As long as you sincerely nurture the students, the school and parents will eventually recognize your efforts.”
And indeed, by the second year in 2019, the number of students gradually increased. Seeing the students grow, together with the support from parents and the school, truly gave us the motivation to keep moving forward..

这里是 MoPac。
地点位于 Petaling Jaya（PJ区），场地以暗色系工业风格打造，充满个性与氛围感。新年期间第一次来到这里参观时，就立刻被它独特的 Style 深深吸引，也因此毫不犹豫地决定，将这里选为 2026 本院《Thiam Guitar Awards Ceremony》颁奖典礼的举办场地。

同时，也想特别介绍 MoPac 场地负责人 —— 阿 Bot。
他是一位全职音乐人，擅长唱歌、吉他、鼓、贝斯、词曲创作、编曲、录音制作以及音响工程，可说是一位全方位音乐工作者。

其实，Bot 是Thiam老师年轻时期玩乐团时认识的 Band 友。
当年他的地下乐团《乌风铃》在圈内相当火爆，还曾发行属于自己的乐团专辑。Bot 当时身兼主唱与吉他手，更负责了乐团大部分的词曲创作。

如今，我们都各自拥有了自己的家庭与事业，也在不同的音乐领域、用不同的方式继续热爱音乐...

This is MoPac.
Located in Petaling Jaya (PJ area), the venue carries a unique dark-themed industrial aesthetic filled with character and atmosphere. I first visited the place shortly after Chinese New Year and immediately fell in love with its style. Without hesitation, I decided to make it the official venue for the 2026 Thiam Guitar Awards Ceremony.

At the same time, I would also like to introduce the person in charge of MoPac — Bot.
He is a full-time musician who specializes in singing, guitar, drums, bass, songwriting, arranging, recording production, and sound engineering — truly an all-rounded music creator.

Bot was actually one of the bandmates Teacher Thiam knew back in the younger days of playing in bands.
His underground band, “Wu Feng Ling,” was once very popular within the local underground music scene and even released their own album. Back then, Bot was the lead vocalist and guitarist, while also handling most of the band’s songwriting and compositions.

Today, we each have our own families and careers, yet we continue to stay connected through music...

After three months of careful planning and rehearsals, Teacher Thiam successfully led everyone in presenting a wonderful and heartwarming academy awards concert. Every backstage volunteer played an important role in different areas, and it was through everyone’s quiet dedication and teamwork that the students were able to focus on practicing, improving their skills, and performing with confidence and peace of mind.

经过三个月的策划与排练，Thiamguitar学院颁奖音乐会。每一位幕后义工在不同岗位上的付出都非常重要，正因为有大家默默的支持与配合，学生们才能更专注于练习、提升水平以及安心演奏。

Kary Eu (我太太)连续几个晚上不眠不休，用心制作手工、设计制服，并安排气球与现场布置，让整个活动充满温馨与仪式感。
乐妈、Kuan Kew、Randy Chang 协助奖杯、文凭及报道处工作，让当天流程顺利进行。
Angel Thum & Chloe Wong - 精心安排丰富小食，让大家感受到满满温暖。
Elsa妈协助奖杯订购与安排。
Samantha 专业的现场摄影拍摄，为大家留下珍贵回忆。

不知不觉，Thiamguitar 创立已经快进入第9个年头了（Since 2017）。
一开始的制服设计是我随手自己做的，用黑色只是觉得很酷。
到了第5年(2022)，我们开始有了一群固定的学生，我太太 Kary Eu 大胆帮我重新设计，把制服改成红色，Logo也重新绘制。
今天2026年，部分学员已经进入青少年阶段，而 Thiam 老师也不再年轻了（笑）。
最近，Kary Eu 再次帮我们设计了全新的概念制服，加入黑色与红色的搭配，看起来更具时代感。

Before we knew it, Thiamguitar is approaching its 9th year since its founding (Since 2017).
In the beginning, I designed the uniforms myself in a very casual way—black was simply chosen because I thought it looked cool.
By the fifth year (2022), we had already built a group of regular students. My wife, Kary Eu, boldly redesigned everything, changing the uniforms to red and even redrawing the logo.
Now in 2026, some of our students have already become teenagers, and Teacher Thiam is no longer young either (haha).
Recently, Kary Eu once again designed a brand-new concept uniform, combining black and red, giving it a more modern and contemporary feel.
