Fussy About Food
Up on the first floor of 23, Jalan Telawi 3 sits Fittie Sense: a casual-dining centred around a clear, uncomplicated ethos of serving food that’s not only healthy, but also a pleasure to eat. Conceived by three friends with a variety of experience in the F&B industry and a propensity for living to eat (rather than simply eating to live), there’s no room on the menu for restrictiv
e pseudo-diets or joyless clean eating fads. Our ‘fit food’ comes packed with all the sumptuous tastes, textures, and thoughtfully balanced nutritional content that you both need and deserve. Fittie Sense’s serene skylit space, complete with a vertical herb garden, makes it the go-to grazing spot for those seeking comforting, healthful dishes bolstered by fresh seasonal produce. It’s also an ideal revving-up or cooling-off zone for fitness enthusiasts who work up a sweat at one of Bangsar’s numerous surrounding gyms and training studios. Anyone, of course, is welcome – all it takes is curiosity and an appetite for truly good food, in every sense of the word. We’ve put a lot of thought into our menus and tasked ourselves with ensuring that our customers eat well. With a kitchen led by Victor Yap (one of the driving forces behind Tray Café in Plaza Damas), Fittie Sense has set out to celebrate whole, natural foods capable of fuelling bodies and minds. No stranger to pairing sustenance with scrumptiousness, Victor believes that making sound, informed nutritional choices should never detract from the enjoyment of a meal. Expect an all-day menu with a hearty, home-cooked spirit – one that’s cleverly tailored towards the intention of putting wellness and deliciousness first. Our standout offerings include an imaginative selection of breakfast options, a Paleo salad of the week, pre- and post-workout smoothies, Fittie Sense’s signature bone broth, and a round-the-week Superbowl of the Day. Look out for The Fish Bowl on Fridays: a real glass fishbowl filled with ten-grain rice and freshly sliced sashimi. Beside our Fit Food menu, Fittie Sense is also supported by its Gut Bar – an active, ever-changing collection of fermentations and probiotics with the capacity to soothe and heal the digestive tract, which is often referred to as the body’s ‘second brain’. Those with a sweet tooth will delight in the restaurant’s Nice Creams, which provide an alternative fruit-based dessert, with no added dairy products or sugar. Along with using locally sourced, in-season ingredients such as choy-sum from Cameron Highlands or wild seabass and prawns from Pulau Ketam, Fittie Sense is committed to cooking its food safely and responsibly. That means no deep-frying, no highly processed, hydrogenated oils, and no refined sugars stored or used in the kitchen.
