Recently, Gwaku, together with our coffee roasting partner, JWC Roastery, had the pleasure of hosting a group of coffee enthusiasts from PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) Malaysia for our very first Coffee Appreciation Workshop at our 1Sentral outlet.
Over the course of three engaging hours, participants explored the fascinating world of coffee through both theory and hands-on experience. The workshop covered:
☕ Coffee Origins
🌱 Understanding Coffee Beans
👃 Coffee Cupping
☕ Brewing Basics
🥛 Espresso & Milk-Based Drinks
The highlight of the day was undoubtedly the Latte Art session. Each participant had the opportunity to pull their own espresso shots, texture milk, and try their hand at pouring latte art. It’s one of those skills that looks deceptively simple—until you actually try it! It certainly gave everyone a newfound appreciation for the craft behind every cup.
Time flew by, and by the end of the session, each participant received a Certificate of Attendance. More importantly, they left with new knowledge, practical skills, and, judging by the smiles and laughter throughout the afternoon, a memorable experience.
(And on a personal note, if I ever need a few part-time baristas, I now have a shortlist of people to call! 😄)
