Yemen Makes History at the Global Culinary Challenge Malaysia (GCCM) π€©πΎπͺ
In a historic achievement, Yemen made its first-ever appearance at the Global Culinary Challenge Malaysia (GCCM), one of the world's leading culinary competitions, represented officially by the Yahala Restaurant Group. π½οΈ
This milestone was the result of a year-long development project led by Executive Chef Ramez Rasho, with the vision of elevating Yemeni cuisine to international Fine Dining standards while preserving its authentic heritage and flavors.
The Yemeni team delivered outstanding results, earning multiple silver and bronze medals, along with diploma awards across various competition categories. The team also secured 3rd Place Worldwide in the International Catering Competition, marking a remarkable achievement for Yemen on the global culinary stage.
The participation received high praise from Worldchefs representatives and the international judging panel, who commended the team's ability to combine Yemen's rich culinary heritage with modern gastronomic techniques.
Among the participating Arab countries, Yemen ranked first in the total number of medals won and was the only Arab nation to compete in the International Catering Competition.
This success was made possible through the vision and support of Mr. Waleed Al-Wosabi, Owner of Yahala Restaurant Group, who believed that Yemeni cuisine deserved a place among the world's finest culinary traditions.
