Dear Friends of chinoz on the park,

When we served our first guests in November 1998 ( yes, that’s not a typo. It was 1998!) little did we imagine that we would continue to do so for another 24+ years!

We had been looking forward to celebrating 25 years at Suria KLCC but alas, we will instead be serving our last meal on 7th March 2023 as we have not been offered a new lease and our time in Suria KLCC has come to an end

We wish to thank everyone for their support over all these years. We are truly humbled to have had the opportunity to serve people from near & far, from every continent & culture. It has been wonderful learning and sharing experiences with all of you (a back of envelope calculation shows we have welcomed more than 3 million people!).

A restaurant such as ours is not just about the food & drink. Apart from providing a little respite from the daily grind - that first coffee of the day, a familiar server leading you to your preferred table, the anticipation of meeting up with mates, and oh the joy when your best-loved cake is on the counter - we become woven into the community of this little corner of our city, in a way that only one which has enjoyed the sort of long tenure as we have, are able to do so. You have become a part of our lives as much as we have of yours. Someone said to me that we are your ‘home away from home’. We’d like to think that in our small way we have sometimes made your day easier and brighter.

To the legion of young men & women who have cooked your meals, made the drinks, served them and washed up after that, no words can express our gratitude and we are so proud that many who started their careers in hospitality with us have moved on to head other outlets.

As we were only given 3 months’ notice that our lease will not be renewed, there’s not been time to find a suitable site to relocate the restaurant. But fret not, for in the interim, there will be a ‘son & daughter of chinoz’ opening soon! Stay tuned for details!

For now, once again thank you for your support and its au revoir….till we meet again!
