are Fabian & Eileen

We met each other in 2020, when we were all beginning a new chapter in Centrio, each building something of our own while quietly figuring things out along the way.

Over the years, we have never really worked together, yet we have continued to support one another in countless ways — sharing ideas, offering encouragement, celebrating milestones, and simply being there when it mattered.

They have been more than friends; they have also been a source of inspiration. Encounters like these remind us that, no matter where life takes us, there are always like-minded people walking alongside us.

Looking back, we feel nothing but gratitude that our paths crossed.

Perhaps the most meaningful relationships are not built by working side by side every day, but by growing together while pursuing our own dreams.

Tze Hau is one of our regulars that runs a specialty coffee shop in Kuala Terengganu.

On the surface, we make coffee in different cities,
for different communities. But every time we sit down to talk, it feels like we’re working toward the same thing.

Not just better coffee, but creating spaces where people can slow down, have meaningful conversations, and feel a little more at home.

It’s always comforting to know that there are like-minded people in different corners of the world, quietly doing the same work in their own way.

Perhaps that’s one of the most rewarding parts of running a specialty coffee shop, not just meeting customers, but finding kindred spirits along the way.

我們一直相信，

這一天，
兩位選擇獨自來觀展的人，
因為對作品有著相同的喜愛而相識。

藝術沒有替他們介紹彼此，
卻讓他們在同一份感動裡，
遇見了一位知音。

We’ve always believed that an exhibition is more than a place to view art.
It’s also a place where people find one another.

On this day, two visitors chose to come alone.

They found themselves drawn to the same works, shared the same appreciation, and before long, a conversation began.

Art didn’t introduce them to each other.
It simply allowed them to meet through a shared sense of wonder.

Two years ago, a chef from Singapore
visited White Land and had a cup of
filter coffee brewed by River

Last week, he came back
He told us that cup changed how he saw filter coffee. Over the past two years, he has explored coffees from different places, yet he kept thinking about the one he had here.

What followed was more than coffee

We spoke about coffee, food, craftsmanship, and the quiet pursuit of making something meaningful. Those are the conversations we treasure most

Moments like this remind us again why White Land exists

Not just to serve good coffee, but to create a space where people connect, exchange ideas, and leave with something more than what was in their cup

Sometimes, the coffee is only the beginning
The conversation is what stays with us

感谢 Whiteland 的邀请，
「观自在」是因应本次館內展览主题而创作的 Interactive Artwork。

借着镜面与旋转，邀请观者放慢脚步，
将目光由外而内，
在片刻停留之中，
练习观看。

「觀自在」

我們都在生活裡，
扮演著不同的角色。

回應關係，
回應期待，
也回應這個世界。

時間久了，
我們越來越熟悉如何成為
別人眼中的自己，
卻漸漸忘了，
偶爾停下來。

這次，我選擇以鏡面作為創作媒介。

讓每一次旋轉與停留，
都成為一次向內的觀看。

當目光不再急著尋找答案，
也許真正需要看見的，
其實一直都是自己。

「Within」

We all move through life,
taking on different roles.

Responding to relationships,
responding to expectations,
and responding to the world around us.

Over time,
we become familiar with the versions of ourselves
that the world recognizes,
yet gradually forget
to pause and return inward.

For this work,
I chose the mirror as my medium.

Through every rotation and moment of stillness,
it becomes an invitation
to observe within.

When our gaze no longer rushes
to search for answers,
perhaps what we truly need to see
has always been ourselves.
