𝙀𝙉𝘿 𝙊𝙁 𝘼 𝘾𝙃𝘼𝙋𝙏𝙀𝙍 🥹💔

For some, September indicates the end of summer and the welcoming of fall season.

For us, September indicates the end of Chiu’s journey as an eatery, as we will be closing our doors permanently by 30 September 2023.

The heart is definitely a heavy one but do trust us that this has not been an easy decision to make. We have been pondering this idea for a long time, often times we decided to give it more time because of both our employees and also customers who have been actively supporting us since 2017.

However, the reality is that due to massive cost inflation after the pandemic and inevitable adjustments in pricing, we are unable to provide the best value for our customers anymore, even though we've tried our best to absorb some of the extra costs.

All things in life will eventually come to an end, it is a shame that we were not able to stay longer. Despite all that, we are grateful for each and everyone of you who have supported and also those we have connected with along this journey. The connection with Chiu’s may be ending, but we will definitely reconnect one way or another because hey, a part of us will still be at .coffee if you need good coffee & matcha. 😉

The best takeaway from running Chiu’s you asked? It's definitely the privilege and chance to grow and bond with all of you. And of course, the sense of fulfillment when we get to feed all your hungry tummies. 🥹🥹

If you have the opportunity, do drop by and say hi for one last time for your last Chiu's Pesto Chicken Spaghetti or Queen of Hearts waffle. If you don’t have the opportunity to do so, feel free to share with us any happy and memorable memories you've had at Chiu’s. 🥰

𝙒𝙀 𝙃𝘼𝙑𝙀 𝙎𝙊𝙇𝘿 𝙊𝙐𝙏 𝘼𝙇𝙇 𝙏𝙃𝙀 𝙎𝘼𝙉𝘿𝙒𝙄𝘾𝙃𝙀𝙎!

From the bottom of our hearts, we can't help but to feel extremely blessed and grateful to all our customers and friends who came to support us today.

Truthfully, we were not prepared for the overwhelming response of sandwich orders, as a result we failed to serve our food in a timely manner especially to those who preordered. We sincerely apologise to those of you who have waited a long time for the sandwich orders, we have no better excuse for our shortcomings.

On a brighter note, our previous post may have caught the attention of the said client thanks to all the shares from you all. Client has since apologised and made it up to us, hence we will let bygones be bygones and move on in our own ways.

Perhaps this incident was also a blessing in disguise, as we truly felt the sincerity of people who came to offer us a helping hand, in many forms.

𝗧𝗟;𝗗𝗥: We got ffk-ed by customer and now have tonnes of ingredients lying around. We're doing a Pesto Sandwich promo at RM12 to clear things off.

Few days ago, we accepted a catering job for an event company. Verbal agreement was made in good faith and we proceeded to purchase all necessary ingredients today as the event is on early Monday morning.

However, they 𝗯𝗮𝗶𝗹𝗲𝗱 𝗼𝘂𝘁 on us late afternoon today by informing us they are going with a different caterer instead, which left us completely devastated and helpless. We usually take in some form of deposit first but due to tight scheduling, we had to order the ingredients latest by today before the deposit money came in.

Dear friends of Chiu's, may we humbly request some support from you in helping us out of this ordeal?

We've actually customised a special sandwich menu for the supposed catering:
• Pesto Mayo Chicken Sandwich
• Pesto Mayo Mushroom Sandwich

We will be selling them at a discounted price of 𝗥𝗠𝟭𝟮 𝗽𝗲𝗿 𝘀𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘄𝗶𝗰𝗵 and it will be available for both dine-ins and takeaways starting from Sunday 25 June to whenever stock runs out.

We will be extremely grateful for your support in helping us in this matter and not letting all these beautiful ingredients go to waste. 🙇🏻‍♂️🙇🏻‍♀️🙇🏻
