Ee Hong Restaurant officially closes its doors.
Such a short sentence, yet behind it lies forty years of my parents’ youth, hard work, and life.
It all began in 1986, with a small food stall.
Every day started before dawn preparing ingredients,
and ended late at night after closing up.
One bowl, one plate, one table, one customer at a time,
they slowly built a life and supported our family.
Back then, there was no luxurious environment.
Only sincere food,
and my parents’ unwavering dedication day after day.
Then in 2002,
they finally had a place they could truly call their own.
To others, it may have simply been the opening of a restaurant,
but to my parents,
it was the realization of a dream they had worked tirelessly for over many years.

24 years in this shop,
and nearly 40 years since 1986,
this restaurant had long become more than just a business.
It was a home.
A part of a generation’s memories.
And a familiar taste carried in the hearts of countless loyal customers.
Watching the lights go out for the last time,
and packing away the tables and chairs,
what hurts the most
is not the closing itself,
but the days we can never return to.
Although there is sadness and regret,
more than anything, there is gratitude.
This was never just a restaurant.
It carried the memories and stories of so many people.
Some grew up eating here.
Some had their first dates here.
Some stopped by after work for the familiar dishes they loved.
And some have already moved on in life,
yet still keep this place in their hearts.
Every table,
every dish,
every “Boss, the usual,”
became one of our most precious memories.
To every customer who ever visited, supported, and accompanied us through the years — thank you.
Because of all of you,
my parents’ youth and hard work became something truly meaningful.
Today is not a failure.
It is the beautiful closing chapter of an extraordinary journey.
Mom and Dad, thank you for everything.
Thank you for spending half your lives persevering,
warming countless hearts and stomachs,
while holding this family together.
Every gathering must one day come to an end.
And today, we officially turn the final page.
Although the restaurant has closed,
the flavors, warmth, and memories we shared
will always remain in our hearts.
