5 years ago, we set out to build something beautiful for the people of JB. Now, the authorities wish to rezone our area from commercial to residential. Despite the fact that we have valid licences and permits, pay all taxes, fees and revenues, provide weekly meals to the poor, do community work, raise funds for charity, support local artists, and have just renewed our lease and completed extensive renovations to make EIGHT possibly the most beautiful venue in the city, we have been forced to close.
We didn't set out to change JB, we simply wanted to - in our own small way - make it a better and more enjoyable place to be in. Our premise may have been taken away, but our philosophy remains. Everything we did, we did for you.
