Tekan.co TEKAN& is a multifaceted creative space hosting: Letterpress Cafe, Creative Studio, Retail & Event S Welcome to TEKAN&, in our home city.

JB is the place where our roots lie, where a lot of ideas behind TEKAN& were formed. In 2018, four friends & foodies shared a passion for craft & letterpress came together in pursuit of the perfect cup of coffee/ good simple food, and to create multifaceted creative space with letterpress cafe, creative studio, and event space by bringing in the right kind of energy and vibes.

“TEKAN” which means

press in Malay language takes inspiration from the coffee machine and letterpress printing. The ampersand (&) in TEKAN& plays an expandable role which provides ample possibilities of creation that could take place or develop in TEKAN&. The idea is to make something begin or happen: from beans to cup; ideas to creation; ingredients to recipes and more to keep the ball rolling and opening new doors and doing new things. The letterpress machine is particularly interesting in that it creates a collision of the old and new, where retro and modern collide; stimulate visual senses which makes a day out at TEKAN& a sensory adventure. We hope you can experience a character filled space within the vibrant atmosphere that comes alive here every day; a place for everyone to enjoy Malaysian-inspired food, create & mingle, chill out & do nothing & whatever you’re looking for in your café break.
