The ultimate goal of any classically trained chef is to ultimately be awarded with Michelin stars the most coveted prize in food. Chefs in restaurants around the world work tirelessly creating unique menus and offering remarkable experiences, just to try and win at least one star for their restaurants.
Well.... from 1st February, 2019 through to 1st March, 2019, you will have ample opportunity to savor One Michelin Star cuisine at Garvy's French Fine Dining Restaurant Ipoh, with each dish masterfully crafted by Chef Mark Singer, who has earned one Michelin Star for the restaurant that he's worked in before. Come and enjoy and savor a specially put together 5-course Degustation menu that is bound to delight even the most seasoned of palates. Chef Mark had been specially flown over from France to allow Garvy's dining guests to have the opportunity to savor One Michelin Star cuisine over the Chinese New Year festive period..... as we usher in the Chinese Lunar Year of the Pig.
Michelin Stars Defined
Michelin awards 0 to 3 stars on the basis of the anonymous reviews. The reviewers concentrate on the quality, mastery of technique, personality, and consistency of the food, in making the reviews.
Michelin focuses entirely on the food. The reviewers award the stars as follows:
One star: A good place to stop on your journey, indicating a very good restaurant in its category, offering cuisine prepared to a consistently high standard.
Two stars: A restaurant worth a detour, indicating excellent cuisine and skillfully and carefully crafted dishes of outstanding quality
Three stars: A restaurant worth a special journey, indicating exceptional cuisine where diners eat extremely well, often superbly. Distinctive dishes are precisely executed, using superlative ingredients.
Michelin also awards a "bib gourmand" for quality food at a value price. They must offer menu items priced below a maximum determined by local economic standards.
