The previous Mea1一顿 has now been replaced by this new spot~ They mainly serve braised pork rice and a variety of Taiwanese dishes. Another great food spot for the Bayan Lepas gang!

✨ Highly recommend the fried chicken chop! The honey soy sauce is sweet, tangy, and super appetizing. The chicken was crispy and honestly addictive!
The sweet potato fries came with a sauce that tasted a bit like salted egg sauce, unexpectedly a really good combo and surprisingly delicious.
As for the other dishes, they were overall decent but nothing too mind-blowing. Still, if you’re a fan of Taiwanese braised pork rice, this place is worth trying!

🇲🇾 Baked by KHB with their DIY Bagels has landed in Gurney Plaza PENANG!

Penang’s Gurney Plaza finally gets its very own Baked by Kenny Hills Bakers! 🎉 And what makes this outlet extra special is you can actually make your own bread or bagel from scratch! 🥯✨

🍽️ The menu selection is slightly smaller compared to other branches, but all the classic mains and desserts are still there, no FOMO needed! Seating is on the limited side, so most people opt for takeaway, making it the perfect grab-and-go stop during a shopping trip!

This time we ordered:
🥯 Cranberry Walnut Bagel with Pistachio Spinach Cream Cheese & Smoked Chicken
🥯 Spring Onion Mozzarella Bagel with Truffle Mushroom Cream Cheese & Smoked Chicken

✨ Both are signature bagels and solid choices overall! But personally, the Jalapeño bagel still holds the top spot in my heart 🌶️
The Cranberry Bagel leans sweet, which makes the savoury cream cheese pairing feel a little off, sweet-savoury combos aren’t for everyone! That said, both cream cheeses were absolutely delicious, no complaints there whatsoever. Definitely coming back to try more flavours next time!

👵🏻 One of only two Michelin-starred restaurants in Penang, holding a Michelin One Star for 4 consecutive years, is it truly deserving of the hype, or just a tourist trap? Here’s an honest local’s take!

📝 The mains were decent overall, but on the milder side, for someone who grew up eating bold, punchy Nyonya home cooking, something felt missing. The flavours here are more refined and subtle, clearly adjusted for an international palate, lacking that fierce, fiery kick of traditional Nyonya cooking.
The service was attentive and warm, making the dining experience really comfortable. And the ambience? Easily the most beautiful Nyonya restaurant in Penang with classic Baba Nyonya decor that makes every photo look stunning!

👩🏻‍💼Office workers, hustlers, and fitness lovers, this one’s for you! Located right at Lucerne Residence!

🍚 Beyond their set Poke Bowls, you can fully customize your own bowl, and they even have ochazuke (Japanese rice with tea) and other wholesome mains. Still in soft opening mode, so noodles and bread aren’t available just yet but stay tuned! Seating is limited, so takeaway is always an option. 🥡

🍚 Poke Bowl toppings? The choices are absolutely endless! Beef, sashimi salmon, unagi and so many more surprises!
😍 Completely obsessed with their Misoyaki Butterfish! It literally tastes like happiness!

🇫🇷🇮🇹 Vintage minimalist vibes, a small but charming space — limited seats, but every detail is thoughtfully done. Short-staffed for now, yet every dish is made with sincerity.
The menu features sweet crepes, galettes, toasties, wraps, pasta, and various Western dishes — there’s even an Açaí Cup waiting to be discovered!

🍦 Ranking Chobani Flip From BEST To WORST‼️

🥄 Recently tried almost the whole Chobani Flip & Gippsland series… some were surprisingly good, while some were honestly disappointing 👀
Here’s my honest review!

🍪 Chobani Flip Cookies & Cream 9/10
Less sour compared to the other flavors, with crunchier cookie bits too. The cho chunks are SUCH a good addition and make the texture super satisfying. Easily my 🥇!

🥧 Chobani Flip Cinnamon Scroll 8/10
The cinnamon flavor mainly comes from the toppings and tastes really good. The yogurt is quite mild, but the sweetness balance is just perfect. Only downside is the white choc pieces are slightly hard, but overall still very enjoyable. 🥈

🍯 Gippsland Choco Fudge Honeycomb 7/10
Definitely sweeter than the rest. Probably the most flavorful out of all, and the choc fudge with graham cookie bits tastes amazing. 🥉

🌿 Chobani Flip Mint Chocolate 7/10
Mint flavor comes through first but isn’t too overpowering. Then the dark choc aftertaste slowly kicks in, which gives it a nice layered flavor.

🍓 Chobani Flip Strawberry Shortcake 6/10
Slightly sour but still acceptable. Has small strawberry pulp pieces and the strawberry flavor is quite rich. The white choc bits are a nice touch!

🧈 Chobani Flip Caramel Slice 6/10
The yogurt itself is only lightly sweet, slightly artificial, and a bit plain on its own. But mixed with the caramel fudge and milk choc pieces, the flavor becomes much more enjoyable.

🍓 Gippsland Strawberry Waffle 5/10
The waffle bits taste like ice cream cone pieces. Definitely sweeter and creamier than the others. The strawberry feels more like jelly chunks instead of real fruit. Taste-wise I’d rank this higher, but the healthiness pulls it down a bit.

🍫 Chobani Flip Triple Choc Brownie 5/10
More sour compared to the other flavors, and the brownie bits were slightly hard. Overall didn’t really work for me.

🍪 Gippsland Cookies & Cream 4/10
Creamier texture, but the yogurt flavor completely overpowers the cookie and white choc. Honestly tastes more like a commercial yogurt drink, not really my type~

🇲🇾 Penang | The BEST Thai Food I’ve Had This Year 🇹🇭🔥

This place is super hidden, blink and you might miss it! Seating is limited, so reservations are highly recommended.

🍽️ Portions are quite generous, and you have selection of fish and cooking method to choose from too! Though prices are slightly on the higher side. But the flavors are incredibly authentic, proper Thai food with bold and intense flavors. Definitely a spot for people who enjoy heavier seasoning and spicy food.
And yes… the 🦐 prawn crackers are complimentary!

Unexpectedly addictive with lots of flavor and texture.

Fresh, tender fish with VERY CRISPY TEXTURE!

🍲 Green Tom Yum Soup
Perfect balance of sour and spicy, packed with Thai herbs and flavors. Easily one of the best tom yum soups I’ve had this year.

✨ Overall one of my favorite Thai restaurants I’ve tried this year so far! It's definitely worth checking out if you love authentic Thai flavors!
