T’MOR ON THE ROCKS
Located on the old road going to Genting Highlands, near the town of Batang Kali (a small up and coming town in the District of Hulu Selangor, 40 minutes car ride North of Kuala Lumpur), T’mor On The Rocks or T’mor OTR is a small café built on a small plot of land at the corner of a private orchard surrounded by fruit trees, lush green nature and the Batang Kali River. R is part of the T'mor Family consisting of Restoran T’mor Place @ Dagang Avenue located in Ampang, Selangor serving authentic Malay food ala nasi bamboo style and steaming hot lauk lauk Melayu dalam kawah. There's also Warrior D'Scholar Cafe, a cute cafe selling barista coffee, cakes and light meals located in Perpustakaan Kem Kementah, Kuala Lumpur (feed your tummy while you feed your mind). Your journey starts as you turn off into a small side road from the main old Genting Highland road (a favorite road for big bikers, small bikers and big cars). Driving down a small road (don't forget to use your horn), you are suddenly surrounded by thick trees and bushes.... it's back to nature guys. Go on for about 333meters until you reach our own majestic OTR Bridge crossing over the Batang Kali River into OTR. The café itself sits beside the river, where the sound of running water flowing over river rocks of all sizes, the never endless melodious chirping of birds and the occasional appearance of our good friend Mr. Monkey and Mrs Wild Boar makes dining at T’mor OTR a very, exciting, pleasurable, cooling and serene experience. The swaying of numerous batik cloths on the cafe ceiling and the general tranquility that surrounds you will cause your mind to slowly immerse in the beauty and sounds of the place. The ultimate chillax feel. Let chef Wanie and her partner Ezul, (a lovely couple) be your host while you dine on traditional Malay food served in a dulang with plates and bowls graciously "given" by our neneks. Our signature deep fried Ikan Siakap Goreng Crispy eaten with hot steaming rice and different types of dipping sambal and sauce, and our masak lemak daging salai will make you come back for more. So, sit back, enjoy the nature that surrounds you and most of all enjoy the food.
