Today, Chef Sam was invited by Japan Expo Malaysia to host a live talk about Japanese cuisine.
Rather than simply speaking on stage, he wanted visitors to experience authentic sushi firsthand.
So, on his own initiative and at his own expense, Chef Sam decided to prepare and personally offer 300 complimentary pieces of Japanese salmon nigiri during the event.
Freshly prepared throughout the one-hour session, each piece was served one by one to visitors waiting in line.
For many, it was their very first taste of authentic Japanese sushi.
Watching people smile and hearing comments like “It melts in your mouth” reminded us why sharing Japanese food culture is so important.
At Sushi Hibiki and SAKANA Japanese Dining, we are fortunate to welcome guests who already have an interest in Japanese cuisine.
Events like this are different.
They allow us to introduce authentic Japanese sushi to people who may have never tried it before.
As a Goodwill Ambassador for Japanese Cuisine, Chef Sam believes that creating these first experiences is one of the most meaningful ways to share Japan’s food culture.
Thank you to everyone who joined us. We hope today was the beginning of many new journeys into authentic Japanese cuisine.
