I write this from the Soltribe couch, now sat it its new home inside Lumbre looking out onto the strikingly beautiful grounds of Finca La Devoción. Having gone through a thorough dark night of the soul and massive shifts in both my business and personal life. Taking this moment to update anyone who is interested on our journey and plant seeds for future fruits for us to enjoy together.
For those who have been a part of the story you may already know that in the last 6 months;
- Our daughter Zora Marigold as born
- Closed Soltribe at Mercado SANO
- Emergency moved out of our house of 4 years
- Moved our entire restaurant of equipment to Atotonilco
There we many times I couldn't see the light at the end of the tunnel and only perceived more darkness. I questioned my choices in life, my path, my abilities. I had to reformat my understanding of success and failure real time while I forced moved a family and my business with a wife and 2 children who deserved their normal amount of attention and with a newborn baby which requires ALL of your attention.
It was during this that I decided I had to reach out to our community for support during the collapse of old and birth of the new. We made our story public and the out pouring if support in all forms flowed. It is because of that support of the community, the support YOU offered, you reading this, that we are here now and able to be working on a new project with hope for the future. It is because of the generosity and vision of both Mezcal El Tinieblo and Finca La Devocion, seeing the value I could bring to their businesses and creating a partnership with me that my family has a path to build something and begin to clean up the mess that was made.
I don't think there are words that could appropriately elucidate the amount of experience and seismic shifts this whole process have offered and continue to offer on a daily basis. There is a long path ahead, and I am excited by each day and committed to each moment that I get to put my love and effort into a project so beautiful in a place so magical as San Miguel de Allende.
The land here, where Lumbre is, is absolutely magical! Just to be around green grass and tall trees, the lushness of life itself is its own medicine. The sunsets are absolutely stunning every single day, bathing the place with golden light every evening. A daily reminder of the majesty of the creator and the cycles we live by.
If you read all of that and felt it the way I wrote it, I would love to invite you to out inauguration event this Saturday, Abr 12th, 2025. It begins a 5pm and goes until more or less 10pm. I would love to show you the sunset and let go of the old, embrace the new with you if it's in the stars.
