Canada’s Thanksgiving tradition goes all the way back to 1578, when British explorer Martin Frobisher held a thanksgiving service after surviving his voyage across the Atlantic — 43 years before the Pilgrims arrived at Plymouth.

And yes, Canadians celebrate Thanksgiving in October! 😉🍂
