WHY ARE THERE SO MANY CROSSES IN THIS RESTAURANT? ✝️🇲🇽
Walk into Casa Ofelia in the heart of Guanajuato and you might notice something unusual: a wall filled with dozens of crosses, crucifixes and religious figures.
It’s part of the restaurant’s distinctly Mexican décor, mixing religious imagery with the colorful, traditional atmosphere Guanajuato is known for. Look closely and you’ll see crosses of different sizes, materials and designs—almost like a little collection hiding in plain sight.
And yes, that little Marco Beteta plaque has a story too—Casa Ofelia says it received recognition from the Mexican food and lifestyle guide in 2014, 2015 and 2016.
